Friday night we went to a Christmas party at Owen's families house (Jordan's friend). We did white elephant gifts, ate and just hung out and mingled while the kids enjoyed themselves.
Saturday night we hosted the year end soccer party for Hannah's team/families (45 people!). I agreed as long as I didn't have to cook; it took enough work to clean - lol :) Guess who made a surprise visit? SANTA! The kids were so excited, especially the younger siblings of the girls, and each took a turn on Santa's lap. We even got Jordan to participate - woohoo! Coach Jason (aka Dad) then gave speeches about each of the girls and handed them a bag filled with goodies - a soccer medal, soccer ball ornaments, and lots of other treats from other families.
Sunday I got my Christmas present (according to me). We stayed home and had a family day. Seriously! NO soccer ~ No play dates ~ No chores ~ No errands (except to return some chairs to a family and pick of choc chips from the store). We played games, watched football, wore pjs, made homemade chocolate chip cookies and just genuinely enjoyed hanging out with each other. I dream of the day we will do this again . . .
